He-Whore! Gigolo Jess explains how he gets paid to play

by Kimberly Martin

Boston's own Gigolo Jess has the kind of job every red-blooded heterosexual man dreams of--he gets paid to get laid. BY WOMEN ONLY! That's right, unlike most male gigolos, Jess doesn't cater to the "gay parade.” His $300-an-hour services are strictly for ladies.

Jess has been making waves with New England "sugar mamas" for several years, but thanks to the power of the Internet, word of his professional prowess (and 11˝ inches) has spread around the world. Now women across the pond and beyond are queuing up with cash in hand for some motion in Jess's ocean.

Jess’s fame became even more rock-solid in 2003 when he appeared in the June issue of Boston magazine and on TechTV's late-night talk show Unscrewed. His website (www.gigolojess.com) is prominently featured on several international online escort directories and has been the subject of many an envious online discussion on world-famous humor sites such as fark.com and b3ta.com.

Not surprisingly, hundreds of e-mails land in Jess's inbox every day from men wanting to know how they, too, can charge women a fee for their undivided attention. But Jess knows better than most that time is, indeed, money--his most recent sideline is as a paid consultant to men who want a piece of the pay-for-play action for themselves. Forget what you've seen in American Gigolo or heard from David Lee Roth--Gigolo Jess is the real deal.

How long have you been a male escort? How did you get the idea? What made you pursue this line of work?
I've been a male escort for several years now. I wasn't the one with the idea though--it was my friend and public relations manager Ann, who is a well-known female escort in the adult entertainment biz, who had the idea. She met me in a bar a few years ago. We became good friends and drinking buddies. We hung out together at times in local Boston nightclubs--I like to dance.

One evening when we were out at a local nightclub in Boston, Ann was observing how women just flocked around me all night long wanting to talk to and dance with me. She said, "Jess, you should start charging women a fee to hang out with you." It started out as sort of a joke; even the name “Gigolo Jess” was tongue in cheek. We didn't think that anything would come of it.

At the time there were no straight male escorts out there, only gay escorts serving the gay community. Ann had a website put together for me and got me out on the World Wide Web. In less than a month after the site was up, we had calls and e-mails from magazines, radio and television stations, not just locally, but from all over the world wanting an interview with the real live American Gigolo.

I read on your site that you have a day job. Do the people at your job know about your sideline? Do you plan on making a full-time career out of being a gigolo?
Yes, I have a day job. I own a small graphics company, plus I'm a part-time bartender. And no, people at my job do not know that I moonlight as a professional gigolo. And as for your last question about making this a full time career . . . no. Even though I sort of became famous in the adult entertainment industry as a professional gigolo, I still like to keep this part of my life separate from my regular life.

What are your clients like? What sort of things do you do on your dates? And of course, the question everyone is dying to know . . . is there sex involved? (Or are you allowed to say that legally?) Do you have beautiful women dying to hook up with you?
Wow! Where do I begin. Let's see . . . My clients come from all walks of life. From the rich and famous to the everyday, ordinary working woman. I even see married couples! Don't ask me why, but for some strange reason men just want me to be with their wives. On "dates" I will do anything from a quiet dinner for two to an evening dancing at a nightclub. Clients also send for me to meet up with them anywhere in the world they happen to be. I do a lot of travel internationally. As for women "dying" to "hook up with me" . . . I don't know if they're "dying" but they sure like seeing me a lot. And as for the question everyone is "dying to know" . . . hehehe . . . I'll never tell.

I do get a lot of rich and sometimes famous people as clients. Haha . . . I bet you would just love to know who is in my little black book of clients. Sorry, I'll never tell. But you know, it's not like I'm jet-setting around the world every week of my life and living in the lap of luxury at some woman's expense. If I had to depend on just being a gigolo for my bread and butter I'd be out on the streets by now. Being a professional gigolo is fun, but you shouldn't depend on it to pay the rent.

Sometimes you get lucky and meet a "sugar mama" who's willing to take care of you for awhile. But that grows old real quick. I really don't like being some woman's property. Maybe there are some guys out there that do, but I like my independence and being able to pick and choose who I like to see and when I like to see them.

What is the most interesting professional date you have been on so far?
Gee . . . I don't know. Does doing the mile high club in a client's private jet count?

Are other men jealous of what you do? Do you feel that you have a certain "something" that has made you a success at being a gigolo, something that just every
man might not have?

I don't know if men are "jealous" of me. I have never gotten any hate mail from men. The "certain something" I feel is partly good health and fitness. I work out at the gym every day and I eat a healthy diet. Plus, I've been told it's my easygoing personality. I guess in women’s eyes I look and sound good.

What advice would you give to other men who are interested in becoming gigolos? I see on your website that you are offering consulting services on this very topic. Do
you plan on writing a book?

You'll have to pay for that like everyone else. And as for writing a book . . . maybe. You'll just have to wait and see.

What do you think about gigolo movies like American Gigolo, Just a Gigolo, and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo? Do you think these are realistic portrayals of the business?
I have seen all the gigolo movies that you have mentioned. That's all Hollywood. It's nothing like that in the real world of male escorts.

But I must say my favorite gigolo character was from Spielberg's movie A.I.: Artificial Intelligence featuring actor Jude Law as Gigolo Joe. It was that character "Gigolo Joe, hey Joe, whaddya know?" that inspired my name Gigolo Jess--"Who'd-a guess, it's Gigolo Jess."

It was sort of a tongue-in-cheek thing at the time between me and Ann when we were putting the gigolo thing together. We didn't think it would take off like this. Oh, and the Deuce Bigalow thing never happened as of yet. Thank God. But I'll let you know if it does.

Which Hollywood actresses would you most like to "service" and why?
As for any actresses that I would like to "service"--Paris Hilton. Yeah, I'd like to "service" her one of these days. Haha, I'd probably teach her tight little ass a thing or two. She needs a real man to loosen that tight little ass of hers up. The kid is still wet behind the ears, doesn't have a clue.
