Little Cinderella: The Sex Wrecks Interview
by Brian Abrams
From stripteasing for well-spending gents to performing stunts on a D-grade movie set, this four-foot-ten, picture-of-petite blonde has been profusely sweating under beaming lights for the majority of her twenties. She’s not exactly the ideal image found in a Disney cartoon, but this dream-babe ended up making a fairy tale of her own: one in which she would assume the role of Little Cinderella. It all began one night back in 1994, where, at the stroke of midnight, she changed from a Texas dancer at a topless bar to a California porno star.
Cindy’s worked with a wide range of adult-film stars including Max Hardcore and The Big Lebowski’s Asia Carrera, and she even had a cameo in P.T. Anderson’s Boogie Nights. After a few years in front of and behind the camera, Cindy found early retirement. She spends her days webmastering her site and her nights on the down-low . . . flipping the channels.
Been to the movies lately? Seen anything sexy?
This makes me sound old, but I really don’t like going. They’re too loud; but I rent as soon as they go to video. The Butterfly Effect and Secret Window are the last I saw. I love Ashton Kutcher, but [the movies] weren’t sexy.
So what movies do you think are sexy?
I like Color of Night, that suspense thriller with Jane March and Bruce Willis. You know the one where he’s the shrink. But I usually just watch primetime shows. I love my North Shore, The Simple Life, and C.S.I.
Couch potato instead, huh? So what do you watch late at night, you know, to wind down?
I Love Lucy. Every night.
How about something with a pulse?
Oh, sorry. Off the top of my head, I’d say Striptease, 9 ½ Weeks, and Erotique.
What actresses do you think are sexy?
I like Angelina Jolie because of those beautiful lips, and she’s a wild one. Christina Aguilera for her voice and the way she has blossomed into such a gorgeous woman. Oh, I’ve always thought that redhead, Nikki Cox, was adorable. And Jessica Alba. No question there. And Liv Tyler.
So do you prefer men more so than women, or is it more about the individual, not the gender?
I think women are the most beautiful creatures on Earth, but to me that’s just a tease. I need a man.
Do you remember the first time you saw skin on celluloid?
I was about sixteen with my high-school boyfriend. We were with a bunch of people at this party. It was on in the living room. At that age it was definitely an unusual thing for me to see people on TV have sex. I was not a virgin and had only been with one person, so I wasn’t very experienced. We watched for a second, but it was a high-school party--not an orgy! I was just more interested in partying.
Do you at least remember what movie it was?
Shit, I can’t even remember what I watched last week.
You're only twenty-nine years old and you've appeared in over two hundred and fifty porn videos. Do people automatically stereotype you as a nympho because you took part in the industry?
You got that right.
So I guess, if nudie movies aren’t happening with you, then porn is out of the question?
Unfortunately. I can’t watch porn anymore. I sit there wondering what that person is doing these days. And I can’t get off watching friends anyway.
Was the HIV scare in the porn industry really that bad, or was it all media overhype?
That was real. I’m just thankful that when [filming] I worked with an exclusive list of people.
How many days did you spend on the set of Boogie Nights?
Like four or five. I was treated like a true star. I had my own trailer with a private parking spot. It was really nice.
Did they talk to you, at any point, about doing a nude scene?
My scene was supposed to be nude, but they changed it the day of the shoot. I was glad too. This way at least my grandparents and the rest of my family could watch without embarrassment.
No embarrassment, huh? What about the two hundred and fifty pornos?
The family has no problem with it, mainly for the fact that I made so much money--and legally. My best friend since third grade caught her dad and brother--at separate times--watching one of my films on the Spice Channel. That’s when it gets weird.
What were the biggest differences between working on a mainstream movie and doing porno?
A lot was actually the same. Well, there weren’t naked people all over the place, but it was all the same just done on a larger scale. For me it was like having hamburgers all the time and then finally you get that taste of a great steak.
Did you party with the crew much?
Not at all. I was with my ex-fiancé at the time, and he sucked. He treated me like a prisoner. He didn’t want to do anything or take me anywhere. That prick took me to Jack-in-the-Box for my birthday and through the drive-thru at that!
Honestly, I pity that man. He’d always threaten me, saying, “I’d kill myself if I lose you.” I blame myself for staying with him so long.
Were you at all intimidated being on a higher-budget, higher-profile movie set?
Hell yeah. I was nervous as all get-up. You never know how people will react to you when they find out you’ve been in the porno biz.
Were there any incidents or strange vibes with anyone on the set, between porn star and mainstream movie brat?
Not at all. Once I was on the set, everybody was so nice. I totally felt at home. That was the greatest experience of my life.
